Zella’s dam, Fintry Missty Cat, is
the tried and true cross of Fintry Tom Cat on a daughter of King Leo
Bar AAA, AQHA Champion. Fintry Missty Cat is a full sister to Fintry
Little Tom an ROM performance stallion and sire of Top Ten Gold Rush
Champions 2002-2003 in reining, barrel racing and cattle penning, and
Fintry Little Meow the dam of successful competitors in barrel racing
and pole bending.
King Leo Bar sired earners of 2,405 AQHA points and 9 AQHA Champions.
His daughters have produced earners of over $450,000.00 in the NCHA,
14 race ROMs & broke 7 track records.
Zella Hep is an AQHA Champion, ROM performance and halter producer.
The Fintry Tom Cat/King Leo Bar cross also
produced the second dam of Sandy Ridge Stallion Station’s (Alberta)
~ Root Beer Boots, a multi open reining futurity winner as well as a
1D barrel winner and sire of winning barrel horses. Fintry Tom Cat and
King Leo Bar have been the foundation of multiple performance horse
breeding programs throughout Western Canada for decades.
Zella’s sire, Speedy Roan Man, double
bred Driftwood, is an AQHA point earner in heading, heeling & tie-down
roping with very limited showing. Quarter Hancock sired AQHA point earners
in youth barrels and stakes racing. He also sired scores of good rope
and ranch horses.
Fintry Zella Hancock’s oldest son,
Buster Jiggs Hancock (aka Banjo) is working a 125 section grazing lease
in Alberta and will be picking up at pro rodeos in 2014. No matter the
terrain .. no matter the hours.. no matter how hard the work .. he is
always the first to meet his partner at the gate… always ready
to see what lies over the next hill.

Miss Dazzling Steel is a granddaughter of Steel Bars, one of Joe Hancock’s
most beautiful and legendary grandsons, and a favourite of ours. Steel
Bars AA acquired his ROM race and was the 1957 AQHA High Point Halter
Stallion, he is the sire of: Superior Halter, Superior Performance,
AQHA Champions, NCHA and NSBA money earners, Race money earners, ROM
race and Stakes Winners. Steel Bars is on the AQHA Performance List
#17 all-time leading broodmare sire of AQHA Champions (16). Also the
sire of Aledo Bar, sire of World Champions, Superior Halter and Performance,
NCHA earners.
Dazzling Steel is the sire and grandsire of many hard working ranch
and rope horses and at least one winning College National Finals Rodeo
head, heel & tie-down (finished 7th) horse. While doing research on
what some of Dazzling Steel’s descendants had accomplished, I came across
the mare, A Dazzlin Prize. Her show record is too long to list here,
but includes 1st place Non Pro Two Rein Championship, 2013 NRHA Stakes
with a rein work score of 142.5 and a cow work score of 151, 3rd Senior
Working Cowhorse at the 2013 AQHA World Championship Show & she is the
winner of the 2013 Magnificent Seven All-Around Stock Horse Championship.
It is really a pleasure to see this old bloodline continue on in such
a positive way in subsequent generations. Good horses come from good
horses.
Star Duster is the sire of AQHA Champions, Superior Halter and Performance
ROM, NCHA money earners.
We have retired Steel from production with the birth of her last filly
by John Coffee Hayes in 2013.
